Younghan Song in the second round of the Dunlop Phoenix Tournament

Song Young-han tied for 12th place on the second day of the Dunlop Phoenix Tournament (total prize money of 200 million yen), a 'special tournament' of the Japan Professional Golf Tour (JGTO).

Song Young-han hit 1 over par 72 with 3 birdies and 4 bogeys in the second round of the tournament held at the Phoenix Country Club (par 71, 7,004 yards) in Miyazaki, Japan on the 17th.

Song Young-han, who tied for 6th place with 5 under par on the first day, recorded a midterm total of 4 under par and 138 strokes, falling down to a tie for 12th place.

Song Young-han, who won the 2013 Korea Professional Golf (KPGA) Korean Tour and the 2015 JGTO Rookie of the Year Award, is playing very well in Japan this season.

He won his second JGTO title at Sansan KBC Augusta in August, and is ranked 4th in season prize money (85 million yen) and 1st in green hit rate (74.797%).

The gap with amateur Yuta Sugiura (Japan, 10 under par, 132 strokes), who took the sole lead, has widened slightly, but Song Young-han is aiming for a counterattack in the remaining two days, continuing his momentum of ranking in the top 10 in the last two consecutive competitions.

Song Young-han, who started from the 1st hole in the second round, maintained his number of strokes with a birdie and two bogeys in the first half, but lost one stroke in the second half.
