Son Heung-min, the ‘captain’ of Tottenham Hotspur in the English Professional Football Premier League (EPL), was selected as the club’s Player of the Year by fans.

British media outlet Football London reported on the 20th (local time) that Son Heung-min was selected as the 2023 Player of the Year by Tottenham fans.

Son Heung-min, who wore the captain's armband for Tottenham this season, has recorded 10 goals and 4 assists in 17 regular league games.

Son Heung-min, who became the first Asian player to become the top scorer in the EPL in the 2021-2022 season, is tied for third place in this season's scoring rankings. He is 4 goals behind leading scorer Erling Holland (14 goals, Manchester City).

Football London introduced, “Son Heung-min is the team’s highest scorer with 10 goals this season and has been scoring double-digit scores for eight consecutive seasons.”

He added, “After Harry Kane (Bayern Munich) left, I took on great responsibility and even took on the captain’s armband.”

In the 2023 fan vote, Son Heung-min ranked first, Kane, who transferred last summer, ranked second, and freshman James Maddison ranked third.
